NAFF IT Project 2017 Submissions Now Open!
10th edition of Asia’s largest genre project market calls for entries.
The Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) IT Project Market, the key industry element of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BiFan), is calling for entries this year. The IT Project was billed as the world’s first exclusively genre meeting place between genre filmmakers and potential investors and distributors and will be held this year from 15 – 18 July. The deadline of the submissions is until 28 April 2017, with selections to be announced on 28 May 2017.
Founded in 2008, NAFF, as a multifaceted, in-depth industry program for global genre film professionals has provided invaluable programs for all film-related fields, including film development, co-production, financing, post-production, solidifying its place as a leader of Asian genre film market. NAFF is for film industry individuals to discover potentiality of Asian genre films to promote the exchanges. NAFF It Project not only introduces talented genre film projects, also provides opportunities of investment and co-production to film industry professionals. Prizes are also given out to participating projects through selection by investment companies and a jury deliberation.
Under its BiFan Industry Gathering (B.I.G.) framework, each year’s edition will include a Project Spotlight, focusing on one selected Asian country’s genre films in development and its filmmakers. It also runs the Fantastic Film School, which provides the opportunity for aspiring filmmakers to come together and hone their ideas and skills with the best mentors in the industry through workshops, team pitching, and masterclasses.
BiFan is a partner programme with the Far East Film Festival’s new genre project market held in Udine this April under its expanded Focus Asia industry framework.
