8th Asian Side of the Doc Rounds off Winners in Bangkok!
As a spin-off from the highly regarded Sunny of the Doc event, the latest edition of the Asian Side of the Doc (ASD) played host to Asia’s largest gathering of the documentary and factual professionals across four days with the aim of fostering a high standard of Asian documentary filmmaking with international potential.
Held from 30 January to 2 February 2018 at the Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, the event featured conferences, a market, meeting place, and a daily pitching forum for 24 factual projects from Europe, North America and especially Asia.
“It was indeed a celebration of the best of factual programming in Asia-Pacific. The quality of this year’s pitch selection coupled with a more quantitative and qualitative presence of international decision makers, distributors as well as Asian buyers, brought a wonderful vibrancy on site,” said Yves Jeanneau, Asian Side of the Doc CEO.
